Northwest Winter Challenge Final Instructions – SHOES-n-FEET

Northwest Winter Challenge Final Instructions

Posted by Adam Stuhlfaut, Director of Running on

Dear Prospective Winter Warrior,

The Northwest Winter Challenge starts tomorrow! Parts of this email was sent out previously, BUT there is NEW information.  Please read this email carefully to get all the details.

Logging your miles:  You must log your miles using one or both interfaces described below. You'll have four days to log each daily run. For example, you have until 11:59pm on January 5th to log your January 1st run, or until 11:59pm January 20th to log your January 16th run. If you miss the 4-day deadline, you're out of the challenge--no exceptions. The tracking apps will be live on January 1st.  There are two methods you can use to enter your walks/runs.  A step-by-step instructional is here: http://shoesnfeet.com/daily-run-log-instructions .

Apple IOS app for iPhone: The new Raceday iOS app for logging miles will be released and available for download from the App Store on December 31st at racemenu.com/racedayios. If you have a previous version of the RaceDay app, you must download or update to the most recent version that was released at 1:30 PM Pacific Time to get connected.

Android or other non-Apple/iphone users: There will also be a mobile friendly web version for logging miles and viewing the leaderboards from any device at racemenu.com/raceday

Remember to use the exact login format that you used to register for RaceMenu when you registered for the event i.e. if you connected via Facebook, Google etc. you must login the same way. OR If you used an email to create your RaceMenu account you must login that way.

If you have trouble with logging your miles: You can email the app producer support line directly at hello@racemenu.com. You can find additional help on the RaceMenu FAQ page OR at this Step-by-Step guide.

T-shirts: Maybe you don't want another running shirt in your life (totally understandable, as us runners have a lot of race shirts), but THIS SHIRT will have your name on it IF you do at least 1 mile a day outdoors. If you did not initially order a t-shirt during registration you still can order one. The deadline is Sunday, January 14, 2018 at 11:59 PM. Originally the deadline was January 5, but we worked with our t-shirt vendor and got more time. To order a shirt, go to the registration page: https://www.racemenu.com/…/153482-2018-Northwest-Winter-Cha… and select: "Shirts, Shipping & Donations Only" and it will take your shirt order.

Team captains: Or as we like to call you CMO’s – Chief Motivational Officers!  Let your teammates know that prizes are at stake for the most fun, most goofy and most inspiring social media posts about the challenge.  Get your teams together for group runs, take pictures and show us why your teammates are the truest of Winter Warriors

Also, make sure to remind your teammates that have not yet signed-up to register soon. Anyone who registers between now and 11:59 PM on January 5, 2018 (deadline) may have to wait up to 24 hours to get their account activated.

Be social: Our Facebook event page is where most of the action will take place- take pictures, talk trash, and share motivation!  Also, use #northwestwinterchallenge on all your social media posts. You can also tag the Facebook event page. We need to see your pics to give you prizes!

Prizes: We are having prize giveaways all month long based on individual miles run, team miles run, best social media posts on the Facebook event page and/or posted in other locations with the #northwestwinterchallenge.  We have New Balance, Hoka One One, On Running, Topo Athletic, Pro-Tec Athletics, SHOES-n-FEET and Northwest Trail Runs all getting in on the prize action.

HELP: If you have any technical questions with the app, i.e. "I cannot login", you must contact RaceMenu at hello@racemenu.com.

Profile Badges/Ribbons: The ribbon badge on your profile/home page always displays your highest level ribbon Gold, Silver or Bronze, regardless of the miles being inside or outside. Say there is a participant that ran twice in a day: 2 miles outside and 3 miles inside. In the case of that participant, they are Bronze Winter Warrior for running 2 miles outside and Gold non-Warrior on the overall leader board. The profile page will show the Gold ribbon without the Winter Warrior icon, but the Winter Warrior leader board will show the Silver Ribbon with the Winter Warrior icon attached. This person would still qualify for their name on the shirt.

If you have any non-technical questions about the contest please contact me at adam.stuhlfaut@shoesnfeet.com

THANK YOU!

Adam Stuhlfaut, CWO - Chief Warrior Officer @ SHOES-n-FEET
