Visit a Professional for Measure Your Feet Day

Last year, we published a blog post titled “Why Don't We Sell Our Shoes Online?” which explained the SHOES-n-FEET philosophy of bridging the gap between customer service-oriented retail, foot health education and the medical community.
Our highly certified shoe fitters provide a full-service professional fitting experience, including gait evaluation, pressure identification, and shoe selection and customization. One of the first steps to a perfect fit (and happy feet) is getting a correct measurement of the foot. In honor of today’s annual Measure Your Feet Day, we’d like to stress the importance of having your foot measured by a professional.

What I Love to Do in Winter: Ice-Climbing!
For Jason, the owner of SHOES-n-FEET Shoreline, winter isn't about staying indoors (although he is an avid follower of the Power 90 Extreme (P90X) home exercise system). This adventurer yearns for the freedom of the snowy mountains and the fresh open air, no matter how low the temperature gets. Luckily, Washington State offers plenty of opportunities for his favorite winter activity: ice-climbing. Here, he shares with us his recent trek up the Snoqualmie pass, culminating in this absolutely breathtaking photo from the peak. Thanks, Jason - and keep the beautiful pictures coming!

Diabetes is a disease that can affect the whole body, including your feet. A leading cause of lower-limb amputation, diabetes can cause painful and dangerous ulcers, peripheral neuropathy and Charcot foot. The American Podiatric Medical Association takes great care to encourage diabetics to stay on top of their foot health, with an awareness campaign that goes into overdrive during November’s American Diabetes Month.
