Our Training

The SHOES-n-FEET^� staff is highly trained to be able to help you find the best shoes for your feet. In fact, new staff members spend over 100 hours in extensive training in just their first three months. They learn about foot problems, foot structure, and problem solving. They talk shoes and feet until we're certain that they can knowledgeably guide our customers to the best selection.

Training doesn't stop after the first month - in fact it never stops. All of our staff meet weekly for our continuing education program. In addition, they study all of the shoes in the store so that they can identify which shoes will best fit a particular foot.

Making the Most of Your Trip to SHOES-n-FEET^�

We look forward to taking care of you at SHOES-n-FEET^� and we know that many of our customers come from many miles around to visit. Since many of you do travel quite a ways to see us, we want to make sure that your visit is as fulfilling as is possible. The following hints will help you make the most of your visit.

Plan to spend a little more time

At SHOES-n-FEET^� proper fitting usually takes about 20 minutes longer than at other stores. Our staff is trained to check every aspect of shoe fit to ensure that you receive the correct shoes for your feet. We may even have you walk on our treadmill to better evaluate how you walk.

Bring your orthotics

If you wear orthotics, bring them with you to SHOES-n-FEET^�. Our staff understands how to best fit orthotics into shoes. They will ensure that your feet, your orthotics, and your shoes all work well together. If you don't wear orthotics, we may be able to help you find a pair of over-the-counter (OTC) arch supports that will help your shoes fit better and give even greater comfort to your feet. SHOES-n-FEET^� carries the West Coast's largest selection of OTC arch supports.

Bring a Variety of Socks you Commonly Wear

Socks play a crucial role in shoe fit. We will take into account the socks you wear and/or help educate you on how to use socks to improve your foot health. So, bring the socks or hose you use for athletics, casual and dress shoes. We can also give you information about the crucial role that socks play in foot health and help you find better socks for your feet.

“Shoe Customization”

In some cases we will adjust your shoes to provide a better fit. Shoe Customization is the modification and adjustment of shoes so that they best match your feet .The process might involve stretching over a prominence, or placing a pad so that your heel is more secure. In some cases it might even mean putting a different type of sole on your shoe at the request of your foot doctor. Shoe Customization takes the fitting of shoes to a higher level in order to provide your feet with the best fit they have ever had.

We are continually looking for new shoes that you will find fun, attractive AND comfortable. If you haven't been in for a couple months, stop by a store to see what we have available. Our newest additions are Aravon (extra-depth career shoes), Bite (outstanding athletic sandals), and Sanita (fashion-forward, foot-friendly clogs).

Order New Shoes by E-mail, Phone or Fax:
If we have your purchase information on file, we will be happy to replace a pair of shoes that you currently own with the same model and size. Include your name, address, shoe brand, model, and size. Also include your phone number and a good time to call to get your credit card number.

We will not sell a shoe style, brand, or size that is new to you online or over the phone. We do not believe in selling online. Ours is a hands on company.
