Get into the holiday spirit with SHOES-n-FEET’s first annual Winter Wonderland 5K and Lil’ Reindeer 1K. The event is being put on alongside community partner Jubilee REACH. It will take place on December 14, with the Lil’ Reindeer 1K set to begin at 8:45 a.m., followed by the Winter Wonderland 5K scheduled for 9:15 a.m.

“This event is another great opportunity for us to reach out and invite people to join us in supporting the Bellevue community,” said Adam Stuhfaut, director of running at SHOES-n-FEET. “We are proud to have teamed up with Jubilee REACH in putting on such a family-friendly holiday experience.”

Jubilee REACH is a non-profit organization situated in the heart of Bellevue with the mission of providing care and support to students throughout the Bellevue Public Schools District. Members started the organization from Bellevue Presbyterian Church in late 2005 with the inspiration of wanting to give back to the community. Since its beginning, Jubilee REACH has grown into a city-wide charity for Bellevue Public Schools with the belief that every child has the desire to be loved, known and affirmed, and belong to something greater than self.

A portion of the proceeds from the Winter Wonderland 5K and Lil’ Reindeer 1K will go towards Jubilee REACH’s efforts in providing services such as after-school learning programs, putting on community events, ESL courses and much more. Jubilee REACH’s manager of Investor Relations, Theresa Larsen, expressed that with the money earned, the organization would like to see their partnership with the Bellevue Public School District grow so that they can continuously improve on working with students daily.

“The funds raised will be used to sustain and enhance our partnership with the Bellevue School District,” Larsen said. “I think the Winter Wonderland 5K is helping us expand our reach so that we can share the positive impact that we are making on the community.”
