I can see why Vigil thinks the world of the Fick Equation. If you think about it, it’s essentially what gives us life. It’s that time of year again. Days are getting longer, the sun is shining more often, the temperature is rising, and Northwest Trail Runs has kicked off their Tuesday Trail to Grill Series. The first event of the season was at Woodland Park in Seattle, where runners could choose between a 5K (1 loop) and a 10K (2 loops). The best part about this race series is obviously the barbeque at the finish (featuring regular hot dogs AND veggie dogs)!Read more
Spirit of Bellevue 12K/5K - Another locally organized event brought to you by the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce on May 22, 2016. Spirit of Bellevue raises money for scholarships for graduating high school seniors and for their Young Entreprenuer Academy, where young people in grades 6-12 are coached to start their own real businesses.Read more
Tiger Mountain Trail Run was created by Northwest Trail Runs and offered many distances, including a 5K, 12K, half-marathon, and, for the truly ambitious, a 50K. The half-marathon course was one big loop that kept runners primarily on mountain biking trails.Read more
Running is fun. Runners know that. That’s why we run. What a lot of runners may not know is that workouts (faster, harder efforts) can be fun, too. These workouts can give you a sense of accomplishment, make you faster, and be an easy way to measure your progress. One of our favorite new brands is On Running. New running shoes and new shoe brands are launched into the market all the time. Most running shoe upstart brands claim to be different, or standard brand names claim to come out with new technology. Those new brands or new technologies are often not that revolutionary.Read more
Ask any runner what their favorite thing about race day is and you are likely to get a range of answers. For me, it’s pushing myself, having the chance to PR, remembering that fast is fun, soaking in the atmosphere that you can’t find anywhere else, and of course the feeling of accomplishment that comes afterwards. I know that many runners also have these same thoughts.Read more
